Please check out my Events page for all current shows. Lots of art happenings this month!
Just joined New Zone – www.newzonegallery.org – and have some gouache, watercolor and ink paintings in their member’s group show this month. Nice organization. I’ve always tried to participate in their twice-yearly open-to-all shows. It is great to be able to show there each month now AND get to know some new artists and their work. Fun stuff.
Headed out on January 1, 2018 to paint in Siem Reap, Luang Prabang and Hanoi with eleven fellow artists. So exciting! I’m going to be sketching a LOT and experimenting with drypoint on Styrene plastic sheets (lightweight). The materials for this should be lighter weight in my one-suitcase-for-both-clothes and art materials… Good thing it is warm there…the art materials greatly outweigh the clothing… I’m also going to have my five tubes of Royal Talens Gouache, Ink and travel watercolor set.
The “Exercise in Supersize” workshop is over. The students did amazing work! I enjoyed teaching this enthusiastic group of artists. I will be teaching two more workshops this year, both are through Oregon Art Supply. For more information, go to http://www.oregonartsupply.com
Next, is the Pacific Northwest Plein Air event and show. The Columbia Gorge area has spectacular painting opportunities and I’m looking forward to spending time with artists from the Pacific Northwest and around the country. For more information, go to http://www.maryhillmuseum.org
September also includes the UVAA (Umpqua Valley Arts Association) Plein Air paintout. Another great experience to paint entirely different terrain and spend time with artists! There is still time to sign up for this event is http://uvarts.com/plein-air-registration
